Internet Marketing Is The Source Of Advertising For Successful Online Business

    October 14th, 2008

Impacting a market and becoming an overnight success would have been only a dream. Internet marketing however made my dream into a reality. Once my product line was designed and all the manufacturing contracts in place. My potential for mass production was now in possible. That was when the use of a major search engine for promoting my products made all the difference. Through internet marketing, within days it seemed I was calling on my manufacturers to begin a second run of almost all of my products. The excitement was unbelievable. If this keeps up I might have to start thinking about some of those long term dreams coming true. While taking the time to shop around for best pricing is important. Quality is just as important if not more. When it comes to advertising and promoting to the retail crowd. You better make sure you are reaching your target customer. And as broad a base of customers as possible. Internet marketing offers it’s customers a variety of options and prices. You can begin by going with a smaller search engine. Then as business increases so can your advertising budget. You may never have need of the major search engines. It’s nice to know they are out there. Just in case.

If you have money to spend on promotion, you can do pay-per-click advertising and google ad words campaigns eventually. This is a much targeted way to build your business, but should not be attempted by newbie with limited budget.

There are several ways to promote your home business with zero investment or little investment that will actually move your online business forward on limited budget and have you making more money that you spend.

    1. Maximize your autoresponder - Do you have an autoresponder? If you have already your own online business, I assumed that you have already have one of that, because we wont doubt anymore how important to have at least one autoresponder to increase your profit, if you have one, did you already make your own enzine? Your enzine can be a series of informative articles and special offers for your product; this is a proven ways to generated sales online.

    2. Submitting your enzine to enzine directories - this technique will help you to increase your subscriber list to your enzine, plus because many directories will ask for your domain name and post it live on their site, it will increase your “link popularity” which will ultimately improve your search engine ranking in Google and other major search engine.

You can do this by visit Google or Yahoo, or other, search for “enzine directories”, when you visited each site look for a link that sound like “Submit your Enzine” to start the process.

    3. Write an Article - Research and write an article on a topic related to your business, that will allows the people who read your article to find out and learn more about your business, when other enzine and website publish your article (and they will!), your resource box will be include which will help you to increase traffic, gain subscriber and improve your link popularity.

    5. Link Exchange - it’s very powerful ways to increase traffic to your site, the bottom line is if you place your link on other website it’s possible when they got visitor, some of their visitor will see and interesting with your link, and they can click that.

Most of the website will require a link back to their site when you put your link on their site, it’s very easy to do, just logging into your website hosting account and setting up a new links page to begin adding links for your new partners.

    6. Participate at Forum - This is one of the easy and FREE ways to promote your business.

The Best Things In A Home Based Business Are Free

    May 30th, 2008

One of the biggest advantages for doing business on the internet is the low or no cost that is involved in starting and managing the business. Take the place where you do business which is the site, your online store. Most sites can be setup for free by a hosting company. You can either design it yourself or have someone design it for you, again for free.

Products for your business can be obtained for free from various affiliate programs. You do not have to pay for storage of the product because this is done for you by the affiliate. Once the prospect lands on the affiliate’s page they will sell, pack, and ship the merchandise for you. Again, for free. And you are paid a commission on the sale just for leading the prospect to the affiliate’s landing page through your promotions.

Now some promotions can also be free. For instance, you can write articles with links to your site, about the products, and have them published on hundreds of directories on the internet for free. The articles act as advertisement and through the links take the prospect to your site where you, in turn, through links or banners direct the prospect to the affiliate’s landing page where the sale is made. You can also get the prospect to your page through links with other web pages or through your position in search engines. All again for free!

Another way that you can get free advertisement is by belonging to a forum where you can participate in discussions and develop relationships. Your name and site will be listed each time you make a contribution and if enough interest is developed in what you offered; BINGO, you have another person following the link to your site.

You can also develop and place a free press release on the internet every time you add a new product or launch a new site. Blogs, Newsletters, and eBooks can also act as free advertisements. And because the internet is free, their distribution is free.

Let us not overlook the fact that in order to profit from all of the free stuff that is offered you need to do your homework. You will need to examine which hosting company offers the site designs that fit your style. Study which products you are going to be comfortable with representing and promoting. Determine how much knowledge and skills you will need to possess about the products so that you can develop interesting content to draw interest and develop a desire for the product.

You will need to develop a reputation for yourself as being an expert in the field before you will gain a following. This will take some time to establish. You need to be patient, persistent, and committed. Remember, “Rome was not built in a day” but it has lasted many a lifetime. And so can your home business. It is a great opportunity when you consider all of what can be done for free.

Finding the Perfect Part-Time Home Business

    May 25th, 2008

The Internet has created a whole new era that’s added incredible
flexibility to business. Through an affiliate program, you can
now have all the power of a dynamic, global company at your
backing and still run it from the computer in your bedroom.

Or, you can waste a bunch of money on hyped up programs that
    will gain you nothing whatsoever.

Having said that, do you want to know how to find the right
    program?

The following points will focus on finding a program that can be
handled on a part-time basis and still have unlimited earning
potential. That’s not to say that the same program can’t be
worked full time or simultaneously with other programs. That, of
course, depends on each individual’s desires.

Consider the following aspects when looking into affiliate
    programs.

TWO TYPES — Simple and Dynamic

Simple programs usually involve the sale of just one item or
group of items such as ebooks. With these, the important things
to look for are legitimate, worthwhile products, and a good
sales site. As long as what you will be selling is really
something you recommend and view as valuable, these simple
programs can be great. However, you want them to have good,
compelling sales copy on the site that moves visitors smoothly
along to the order button. These may or may not last as income
producers, but can be profitable for at least short term.

Dynamic programs contain more aspects and are ones that usually
last longer and can build you better residual income. Consider
the following points when investigating them.

    LEAD GENERATION

Basically speaking, your job in any affiliate program is
advertising. To be successful, you must continually get new
people to visit the web site or sites of the program you are
working. The first thing to look for in a good program, however,
is what happens with the people you do get to visit the site.

There must be some sort of system in place to retain site
visitors and to credit them to you. That means getting people’s
names and email addresses and keeping them in a database showing
that they visited the site through your link.

Take a look at what the program does to get this information
from people. Does it offer further information by auto responder
or in print? Does it offer an ezine? Does it offer product
giveaways or contests? There must be a system in place, and
preferably more than one, to get contact information from
visitors in order to follow up, especially if there is a fair
sized price tag on the company’s products or for joining in the
    business.

This makes your initial marketing more effective by working
harder on the site visitors you get.

FOLLOW UP AND ENCOURAGING REPEAT BUYING

Follow up is critical for any business, and what your company
practices in terms of following up is especially critical if you
only want to work part time. In a traditional MLM, you are the
one who needs to follow up leads. In a good affiliate program,
however, your company should do this for you. Does the company
promise to send out follow up information to leads generated?
Also, does the company stay in touch with those that have made
    purchases and encourage repeat buying?

If you only plan to work a few hours per week on a business,
those hours need to be spent on advertising for new customers or
prospects. Following up and ‘getting the sale’ is too time
    consuming to be done quickly.

    SUPPORT

Another aspect to consider is the handling of support functions.
When people buy products, will they be looking to you if they
have problems or want a refund? A good company will handle all
of that for you. Also, support should be provided for those you
refer to the business as well. It always pays to help your
downline build their business, but again, this is not easily
done on a few hours per week. Consider how the company provides
support for both you and your downline.

    PRODUCTS and MARKET

Another aspect of obvious concern is the actual products you
will be advertising. Is there only one package that is involved
with people signing up to the program, or are there other
products as well? If there are more products to be sold, that
just gives you more ways to make profits. As well, it gives you
more to work with in your advertising. Consider what the company
provides to potential customers. This is really what your
advertising must be based on. Essentially, the more there is to
the program, the more there is to work with.

Naturally, there must be a market for the products. Is there
room for expansion in the market the products fall under? Is
there a lot of competition or does the company have a good,
    unique line?

    CONCLUSION

The bottom line is the more the company does with and offers to
the prospects you send it, the better you will do. You need to
be able to focus as solely as possible just on advertising. In
looking for a solid part-time money maker, consider these
factors, what you have time to do or are willing to do, and then
    make your decision from there.

The perfect program will not be the same for everyone, but at
least this information will get you thinking as to what is right
    for you.

Copywriting for Non-Copywriters: Use Headlines to Select Your Audience

    May 24th, 2008

    May 23, 2006

I’m guessing you’re interested in copywriting, but don’t consider yourself a copywriter.

If I’m correct, don’t go thinking I’m psychic. I simply used my article title (which acts like a headline) to select an audience of non-copywriters interested in copywriting. You can use headlines to select your audience too.

WHY USE HEADLINES TO SELECT YOUR AUDIENCE?

If someone is your audience, you have something they want. So the sooner you communicate to them that “this copy is for you,” the sooner they’ll dive into your message. From there, if your copy is good, hopefully they’ll respond to it (e.g., buy your product, sign up for your service, etc.).

And if someone isn’t your audience, well, life’s too short to waste it reading something that isn’t going to do anything for you. So do your readers a favor - use your headline to tell them if they’re your audience or not.

HOW DO YOU USE HEADLINES TO SELECT YOUR AUDIENCE?

Always make sure your headline is specific enough to indicate what your copy is about. Let’s look at some examples:

    “Are You Tired?”

Too vague. It’s unclear whether the copy that follows this headline will be about a new mattress, sleeping pills, or a tropical vacation. If you force your readers to read your copy to find out if it contains something they value, it’s likely they’ll simply skip to the next headline instead. Let’s give it another shot…

    “Having Trouble Sleeping?”

Better. It’s narrowed the potential audience to those with sleep problems. But the copy that follows could still be about a mattress or sleeping pills. Let’s try again…

“Does Your Mattress Give You The Ultimate Sleep?”

Okay. Now our headline selects our audience: people that feel their mattress compromises their sleep. If your readers relate to that headline, they’ll read your copy; if they don’t relate, they won’t.

Either way, you’ve crafted a headline that selects your audience. And that’s enough for now. Stay tuned for more later.

    Desperately Seeking the Truth

    May 22nd, 2008

People today are bombarded by so much information that they have become numb to what feels like advertising or, during political cycles like we are in today, out and out fabrication.

Small business owners should resist the temptation to copy what passes for advertising today and focus on telling the truth. I don’t really mean to imply that companies are lying about what their product or service can do, I just mean that they aren’t giving us any reason to believe in or trust what they have to say.

So how do you do tell the truth? Tell me a story. Speak to me honestly about why you got into business, tell me your pain, show me how you struggle and, most of all, give me some reason to hope.

Create a marketing document that tells your story and you will find that you can use it in a variety of ways.

The marketing story is such an effective tool because it allows you to do several things that traditional marketing or advertising does not.

    People learn through stories

Stories are an effective way to simplify a complicated issue.

Stories can create emotion. People buy on emotion and rationalize their decision with facts

Stories are easier to remember because people can more readily relate to a story

    Most importantly…Stories build trust

The basic types of plots for your marketing story

Who I am stories - stories that allow the reader to connect with who you are or who the company is

What I do stories - Stories that communicate what your firm does in a way that gets at why it does it.

The vision stories - Stories that paint a picture of a dynamic future.

Values in action stories - Stories that illustrate slogan like “we try harder”

Lessons learned stories - Shared lessons that expose the human side - both the good and the bad.

I know you stories - Stories that demonstrate to the reader that you have walked in my shoes.

The link to your core marketing message or USP.

As you create your marketing story it is helpful to keep your USP in mind. The marketing story can be a very effective way to demonstrate the words in your most important marketing promise or core message.

Your story should be chosen partly based on its ability to directly link the reader to your USP.

A word about structure - There are several items that go into a good story.

Your story should have personality. A good story is always a good story.

Your story should connect with the reader by revealing a simple truth.

Your story needs a caretaker. Someone in the firm needs to own the story and give it a passionate voice.

Your story should be so focused on the target market so that they can see themselves as characters in your story.

Several great uses for a good story

It can help you recruit employees who relate to the story.

It can and should be part of your marketing materials. Print it on the back of invoices. Hang it in the hall. Tell it in your newsletter. Put it on your web site.

Use it to help present your firm in an industry award competition

    A couple of closing thoughts

The story must be true. I don’t think that I need to explain that one too much.

The story must be somewhat entertaining. Facts and figures can add credibility to a story but emotion and personality keep the interest.

A 13 year old should be able to understand and appreciate the story. If you have a teenager, then you know what a challenge this is. Pass this test and you know you have a winner.

Length. Your story should take no longer than 3-5 minutes to read or tell. Anything longer and you had better have some intriguing plot twists.

Vending Machines and the Lure of the Instant Home Based Business

    April 29th, 2008

If you are considering vending machines as a home based
business here are three very brief facts about vending.

    1) Vending machines will start to earn revenue for your home
    based business almost immediately.

    2) A brand new, high quality machine is actually very
    inexpensive.

    3) Any machine at the right location has the very realistic
possibility of paying for itself well within one year.

These three simple facts are from my 8 years of experience
owning a vending business. I remember the day my first machine
went into a location. It was a cigarette machine and after we
hung it up on the wall in the bar we sat around and had a few
beers. Within 30 minutes after we were done I watched my first
customer walk up to my machine and buy a pack of cigarettes. I
saw the instant cash flow happen, and it was wonderful.

I overpaid for that machine. It should have cost me only
$2,400.00 plus tax, but instead I paid over $8,000.00 because I
dealt with a business opportunity company and they gave me a
location when I bought that machine from them. I can tell you,
there is nothing more satisfying than watching someone put money
into your vending machine. When I watched my first customer buy
from me, the last thing I thought about was how much I spent, my
    business was now making money!

I was hooked and it was great. My first location generated a
return for me of nearly $5,500.00 in the first year. That figure
takes into account the commissions that I paid the bar for each
pack of cigarettes I sold in the bar. My sales in 1996 averaged
300 packs of cigarettes per month with a $2.00 margin.

If I had purchased my first vending machine directly from a
wholesaler and found that location myself I likely would have
saved myself over $5,000.00 and paid off that cigarette machine
    within the first year.

But finding locations for a vending machine can be difficult and
time consuming. A vending business opportunity company ( Rip-off
Bizop Vending Company ) can sell you a vending machine with a
location for your machine. You’ll pay substantially more for it,
but they take the headache out of starting a business by
providing a perfect combination of vending machines with a
location so you can start earning revenue immediately. It’s the
perfect lure for the instant home based business.
