Internet Marketing Is The Source Of Advertising For Successful Online Business

    October 14th, 2008

Impacting a market and becoming an overnight success would have been only a dream. Internet marketing however made my dream into a reality. Once my product line was designed and all the manufacturing contracts in place. My potential for mass production was now in possible. That was when the use of a major search engine for promoting my products made all the difference. Through internet marketing, within days it seemed I was calling on my manufacturers to begin a second run of almost all of my products. The excitement was unbelievable. If this keeps up I might have to start thinking about some of those long term dreams coming true. While taking the time to shop around for best pricing is important. Quality is just as important if not more. When it comes to advertising and promoting to the retail crowd. You better make sure you are reaching your target customer. And as broad a base of customers as possible. Internet marketing offers it’s customers a variety of options and prices. You can begin by going with a smaller search engine. Then as business increases so can your advertising budget. You may never have need of the major search engines. It’s nice to know they are out there. Just in case.

    Leather - All About Chaps

    August 21st, 2008

What’s sexy about chaps? The daredevil spirit, the rough and ready attitude of a cowboy - don’t be afraid to get down and dirty with a cowboy session! You’ll find wearing them gives you a natural swagger, especially if you team them with a good pair of boots.

Cowboys used to wear chaps over their denim to protect their legs from rope burns or thorns. Which is why they go so well together with a little bondage gear - how about lassoing your lover (gently!) and roping them down? A leather whip is a good way to show them who’s boss - just be careful how you crack that baby! If you’re into power play, then let one partner act like a headstrong wild horse, while the other teaches them to be submissive. Breaking in a partner might take some punishment - like a light spanking over your knee - or they might even have to be hog-tied and gagged! (Be sure that you and your partner are comfortable with bondage and trust each other first.)

Chaps fasten around the thigh or come with their own belt - the best thing about them is that they are not joined at the crotch. This means you’ve got easy access to your cowpoke’s private parts - showing off their bare behind or turn them round for a full-frontal peek. Because chaps are leather, they feel and smell great - just imagine the sensation of your lover’s legs encased in leather. Fringes add another element of style and sex appeal - let the fringe brush over your skin for a thrilling sensual experience - coupled with the contrast of hot skin and cold leather…

If you’re dressing up for the rodeo, try a hat, chaps, and a good pair of cowboy boots. What else can you need? This outfit would look so hot on men or women - you may want to add a leather bikini or pouch, but otherwise, cowboys and girls ride best half-naked!

For those of you with a motorbike in the garage, why not try saddling up and getting the motor going while you’ve got your chaps on? The feel of that engine throbbing away between your legs, and your lover holding on tight behind you - should be enough to send you galloping towards the bedroom. Once you’re in there, there’s no need to take off your chaps while you get down to business. You might even find the belt gives you a handy thing to hold onto while your bucking bronco writhes away under you. Of course, you should ride them bareback…

Car Accident Article: Car Accidents & Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

    August 20th, 2008

There has been recent debate in the medical community about defining and prescribing medication for such “disorders” as social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. American society is plagued by self-induced stress. Should this be something we pop pills for? Retrospectively, society accepts the unhealthiness of prior forms of medicated stress relief. It is generally accepted that smoking, for example, causes more problems than it relieves. Why does America swallow anti-anxiety medication so freely, without worrying about harmful side effects? These are powerful drugs that target chemicals in the brain. Medication should be the last resort in any anti-anxiety therapy. First, people who suffer anxiety should be proactive and try to resolve their concerns.

One example of a disorder that is suddenly widely prescribed is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD was first recognized as a serious problem among veterans returning from war. These men suffered cold sweats, panic attacks, nightmares, and compulsive behavior as a result of near death experiences and the mental anguish of war. Some doctors are now claiming that this same level of shock is regularly induced in car accidents, they cite numbers as high as 9% of car accident victims suffer “significant post-traumatic stress symptoms”.

A few years ago, I was in a rather serious car accident, and I experienced symptoms like these medical journals described. I would often upset myself by dwelling on the accident. I displayed obsessive behavior in that I avoided left turns wherever possible, even on deserted streets. I could not manage this out on country roads, but in the city grid I was careful to take three right turns instead of making just one left. Riding in a car that slams on its breaks still causes me to spin around and look behind for the car that always seems to be on the verge of collision. Was this Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder? As annoying as these symptoms were, I find it would take a rather presumptuous hypochondriac to insist that these small neuroses could rival the intense stress of a veteran returning from the horrors of war. Perhaps I was stressed and absorbed by my experience, but I certainly never needed medication.

What I did need to do was to be proactive. I worked with the insurance companies to work out the claims. I spoke with my lawyer and found someone who wanted to buy and rebuild my totaled car so I did not have to consign it to a junkyard. I took responsibility for the situation and did not let it take control of me. It did hurt to think about my car for months, but I don’t obsess about it anymore. If you feel overwhelmed by a car accident experience and all of your real medical needs are met, you do not need a doctor. Talk to a lawyer about your situation and be proactive about filing papers and taking action. I felt overwhelmed after my car accident, but talking to an experienced car accident attorney helped me to answer my questions, address my doubts, and quell my anxiety. No pills required.

    Separating Business & Home Life

    August 18th, 2008

If you’re a home-based business owner, it could be difficult to manage your time. Since your office is located within your home, you tend to spend much more time working in your office than spending quality time with your family. There is that temptation to spend more hours on a project, and the worse case scenario is that you tend to think about your business all the time.

As a home-based business owner, I have been in situations where I have spent so much time on business-related projects that my son has knocked on the door wondering if I was going to work all night. So personally, I have been guilty of this and it is very easy not to pay attention to how much time is spent in your office or working on projects.

Family and friends take advantage sometimes because you work from home you’re always available. They tend to drop by unexpectedly, or they call you on your business line instead of your residence line. When it comes to your family, make a conscious effort to dedicate time with them so that they feel as important as your business. If you have little children not quite school age, arrange a trip to the library, a matinee movie, or a trip to the park but try to schedule these outings at the same time every day or as your time permits in between client appointments.

Now, if you have a spouse, it is very important to allocate time alone with him or her. If your spouse is supportive, encouraging, and understanding of the time that’s dedicated to your business, sometimes you might take advantage of his or her understanding. On the other hand, if your spouse is resentful, you may have more problems than you bargained for. Keep communication open all the time. Another scenario would be that your spouse isn’t interested at all about your business venture. Find the right time to discuss your day-to-day schedules and projects. You should understand his or her needs as well.

It is important to talk to your spouse regarding what your business structure and hours will be prior to starting your home-based business. In the end, it will alleviate the ‘you don’t have enough time for me’ argument.

You Can Install Custom Tail Lights

    August 17th, 2008

You have seen them on all kinds of cars: tail lights that are an obvious aftermarket modification that give even the most nondescript compact sedan an attention getting, stylish look. From Neons to Civics, and from Dakotas to Escalades, and for mostly any model in between, enthusiasts are changing their vehicle’s appearance with these cool looking mods. Exactly what are they? Some call them European tail lights while others call them Altezzas, after the name of a popular manufacturer of this type of tail light. No matter what you call them, you can install a pair in less than one hour on your vehicle.

European tail lights are an easy to install modification of your car’s tail light assembly. Available as either “clear tail lights” or “red tail lights” your stock tail light assemblies are replaced with a custom fitted unit developed for your particular make/model. In short what you are doing is installing crystal clear or red lenses that go over bullet-style taillight and turn signal lenses. The new lenses, paired with style rings and platings, help to accentuate the light emitting from auto tail lights and turn signals for a distinctive look that is vastly superior to the original design.

Euro tail lights are marketed in an assortment of styles and bezel colors including chrome, carbon fiber, black, etc.; some surfaces are paintable for a customized appearance. What’s more, new LED or light emitting diode tail lights are catching on tool. This particular mod features the fitting of new bulbs that light quicker and illuminate brighter than standard tail light bulbs. LED bulbs are filament free and can bear up under grueling road conditions better than any stock bulb. At some point in the future all vehicles will likely come equipped with LEDs, but why wait that long?

Naturally, if you already own certain European models - BMW and Audi are two examples — then you probably are satisfied with your stock lights as they are what inspired the whole “Euro tail light” craze in the first place.

Best of all, Euro tail lights are street legal and meet stringent Department of Transportation (DOT) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) regulations. No need to worry about being ticketed by highway patrol either unless you modify the mod illegally!

Manufacturer directions are simple to follow and assembly can be completed in as little as 30 minutes for the pair. So, before you know it you’ll be cruising down Rodeo Drive in your little deuce coupe for the whole world to see!

Why You Need a Target Market

    August 12th, 2008

One of the first things you must do for your business is define your target market. I hear business owners tell me all the time that “anyone can use their products,” or “they don’t want to narrow down their customer base by excluding groups of people.” I understand that there is fear around excluding a portion of the population - you feel it’s money walking out the door. But, do you really want to try and be all things to all people? When you narrow your focus and choose a target market, you will be able to market your business more effectively.

Here are three reasons a target market will help you work smarter in your business.

    1. Spend your advertising dollars wisely. We all know that ads must be seen at least 7 times before it even registers with a potential customer. If you market to “everyone,” where are you going to place your ad to ensure that enough people see it 7 times? That is, enough people who are then willing to try your products or services. That’s a lot of advertising dollars spent for simply guessing where to put your ad.

    2. Know your customers. Customers also want to know “what’s in it for me?” How do your products and services benefit them? With a target market defined, you can determine what to talk about with potential customers. With a defined target market, you will be able to discuss specifically why potential customers will be interested in your products or services.

    3. Hear it from the source and meet their needs. Once you choose your target market, do some research to determine what other interests the people in your niche have. Find out where they like to hang out online and offline. Start hanging out in those places too and get to know the people. For example, if you product appeals to moms, join a few mom’s groups. When you connect with them, ask what their needs and concerns are. This is a great way to conduct your research - nothing like getting information directly from the source. You can then use that information to further develop products and services for your business.

Truth be told, I was terrified to choose a target market. I felt that I would be limiting myself. I too, was afraid that I would lose out on income. The truth is, because I chose a target market, I was more successful and actually gained more business. My advertising efforts were focused, and I positioned myself as someone my target market could trust with their needs. And, believe it or not, I attracted other projects and clients that aren’t even in my target market. Do yourself a favor - make your business life easier; choose a target market now.

    The Danger of Success

    August 12th, 2008

Keep Your Prospecting Muscles in Shape!

The other day I was visiting with one of my neighbors for the first time in a couple of years. We live in an area where we wave to each other a lot, but don’t seem to talk much. As the conversation continued we started talking about how our respective companies were doing. He owns a chemical blending company with about 50 employees that is doing quite well.

I explained that our sales consulting and training business was doing pretty well also, and then he asked me the universal question I always seem to get. Do you know of anyone who is a good sales manager I can hire?

It seems as if a lot of smaller companies need a good sales manager. I wish we could manufacture sales managers, we would make a fortune.

As we talked further he said that he was looking for someone who can expand their markets and grow their business with new customers. That of course set off an alarm in my brain, because that means Prospecting.

At this point I mentioned that what he needs is not so much a sales manager as someone who can prospect effectively. He chuckled slightly said I was right and then said “I have forgotten how to Prospect.”

Now here is a man who started this company himself. At the beginning he was the head of production, operations, and sales. He did everything including prospecting so well that the business has grown to where it is today in just about 12 years. Yet he claims to have forgotten how to Prospect.

My response was that he probably hasn’t forgotten how, his prospecting skills have simply atrophied. He agreed.

One of the biggest problems all of us face is the danger of success. We go out, grow a territory or market with hard work and lots of Prospecting. Then as we are reaping the benefits of all that effort we begin to discontinue the very things that brought us that success.

And the first thing virtually all sales people stop doing is Prospecting. Primarily because it is the one aspect of sales that exposes us to the most amount of rejection. Yet it is also the one area that can bring us the most reward. So the “risk” to Prospecting is matched and often surpassed by the “rewards.” That is a great risks to reward ration - sure beats the lottery.

So how do we maintain a balance in our sales lives? Good question. With our BLITZ CALL® System for prospecting, for example, we suggest that you decide on a specific number of prospecting calls to make per week . Then simply make that number. We emphasize that you should not be concerned about what happens on each call. But you must make that number of calls.

We suggest you decide how many Prospecting calls to make, by using our method of Statistical “Prospecting” Control (S”P”C). Here is how to do just that.

    • First, decide how many new customers you want in the next 12 months.

    • Second, determine how many people you have to call on right now to get that number of new customers taking into account your sales skills, product line, markets, and so on.

    • Finally, take that number and divide it by 40. 40 is the number of weeks most sales people are actually selling in a year.

The answer is the number of calls you need to make per week.

For example, let’s say I want 40 new customers this year and my current closing rate is 20%, that is for every new customer I have to call on 5 Prospects. So in order to get 40 new customers, I will need to get 200 new Prospects.

Divide 200 by 40 and that tells me I have to make 5 Prospecting calls a week. Now that is pretty easy for any field sales professional.

Pretty simple. If you do this you won’t have the up and down cycles so many people run into in sales. Keeping a constant flow of new prospects in your pipeline makes life a lot easier. Also, as you get better and better at Prospecting, you will have to make fewer and fewer Prospecting calls.

When you have an effective prospecting skill, don’t let it atrophy simply because your business grows and you don’t want to Prospect any more - times change. Now you know how to keep your prospecting muscles in shape

    Samhain - Wiccan New Year

    August 9th, 2008

Samhain is coming up fast! While most of us know Samhain as Halloween, what is this Wiccan Sabbat really about? What ways are best to celebrate the Sabbat? What special things should one do for Samhain? Why is Samhain so utterly cool? Read on, gentle reader :-)

Samhain is usually pronounced “Sow’an,” and is from the Celtic “Samhuinn” which means “summer’s end.” It is one of the doorways of the Celtic year - divided into light and dark, Beltane being the “light.” It is the final harvest of the year, and thanks are given for the year’s bounty.

Many believe that Samhain and Beltane are the two times during the year when the “veil” between the seen and the unseen is at its thinnest. This is the magical time when laws of time and space are suspended, and one can communicate with departed loved ones. On the night of Samhain (October 31) people often light a single candle in their windows to guide their loved ones home, and set an extra place at the supper table for them.

Samhain is also the time when the Crone and her Aged Consort are honored, this being a time for Dark Magic (not “evil,” just dark), and to honor the Dark Mysteries. Remember, without Dark there cannot be Light.

So, what should you do for your Samhain ritual? First, gather things that you feel are symbolic of Samhain. Pumpkins or other gourds, apples, besoms, or even pointy hats are useful articles to set the mood. If you happen to have the friendship of a black cat, ask her to participate with you.

Next, gather the herbs that are special to the Samhain Sabbat. Not all of the herbs that correspond with Samhain are easily available, and at least one takes preparation beforehand (as in soaking mandrake for two weeks or so before you can shred it properly for use). The herbs that I personally use are mugwort, motherwort, broom flower, belladonna (also known as deadly nightshade), mandrake (European mandrake, not American mandrake, which is a completely different plant used for other things), and white sage. I use these herbs to burn as an offering to my Matron Crone Goddess, and as incense.

Also on the altar, the stones of Samhain, which are black (go figure), but especially jet and obsidian. I don’t personally use hematite here because it is so grounding. I like using the hematite afterwards when I need to ground my energies.

Candle colors, while not absolutely essential, can be quite important to setting the appropriate mood. As one could likely guess, orange and black are the primary colors for Samhain candles. One can also use silver for the Goddess and gold for the God for candles on their altar if they so desire.

Once everything is together, cast your circle as you choose, call your quarters if that is part of your practice, and perform your ritual. What ritual, you ask? While Kestra is always one to suggest you write your own rituals, I suppose I’ll share one of mine with you, as a guide, or as a “yuck, I don’t want to do anything like THIS.”

    We welcome our beloved dead

With offerings that they be fed

Let them hear this sacred night

Our love for them brought through this rite

We ask their guidance through this year

And that their blessings settle here

May their knowledge reach our ears

May their message come through clear

Light the herbs, and meditate for a time, waiting for any message that may be sent.

After you feel you’ve waited long enough, or after you’ve received a message, thank the Dead, and anyone else you invoked, take down your signal as you normally would, and end the ritual.

After your ritual is complete, you may wish to ground using some of the foods associated with Samhain, such as pumpkin pie, apples (definitely), nuts, mulled wines (yum yum), pork, beef, or chicken.

Kestra is a Wiccan Priestess, Master Herbalist, and Reiki Master, offering the best in practical information, unique and useful altar tools and ritual supplies. Please check out her offerings at http://www.enchantedworks.com Guaranteed to not be your “same ole” Wiccan shop.

Supplies Needed for a Successful Car Wash Fundraiser

    August 6th, 2008

As a parent you will obviously be asked to help out with your offspring’s fundraising activities and one of those activities will be a car wash fundraiser. As a good parent having read this article you will know exactly what is needed and with a little help from other parents will be able to prevent a disastrous event. There are certain supplies that are needed for a car wash fundraiser; for instance:

    SUPPLIES

    Soap

    Sponges (2)

    Towels

    Buckets (3)

    Garden Hoses

    Window Cleaner

    Clothesline

    Coffee Can Collection Box

    Clip Boards (2)

    Whistle with Strings (2)

    Stop Watch

    Squeegees (3)

    Chamois (2)

Your soap buckets should be five gallon buckets. You don’t have to buy them. Go to the local McDonald’s and ask the manager for a pickle bucket. They are green but who cares. They are free. McDonald’s will also give you a giant water dispenser full of fruit punch to borrow for the day of the event if you want. Tell the management in advance that you will need these items. Also ask them for coupons to hand out at your fundraiser. It will help their business and you should return the favor.

Your sponges shouldn’t be real sponges but lamb’s wool squares. They look like car wash mitts except they are square and about a foot on each side. You can buy them at Pep Boys, Trac Auto or any large auto parts store. You will need four or five of them.

You will need about 150 feet of garden hose. Put the longest section on last. Hopefully it will be 75 feet in length. People drive over the hose ends and ruin them because they smash the brass fittings. The ends will leak and lower your hose pressure. If you plan on having lots of cars at your event, you may want to buy a ‘y’ garden hose fitting at the hardware store (under $3.00) and then get 300 feet of hose and run two hoses each 150 feet long. Don’t use a plastic hose reel. It gets in the way and gets damaged easily. You don’t want to have to give back a damaged hose reel to the lender especially since it’s someone in your group and it probably came from their front yard.

Have each washer bring three towels. Make sure they are towels that they do not need back. They should be garage sale quality. Don’t use nice bath towels from bathrooms. Custom/expensive towels will get ripped or ruined. Plus, most people use fabric softener when washing these types of towels. Fabric softener streaks windows and slows down the drying process. Use the worst towels to dry rims all day. Nicer towels for chrome, windows and body. When the towels get too wet hang them on your clothesline between two trees.

Don’t buy window cleaner. Buy one pint of rubbing alcohol. Use your squirt bottles. Add fifteen to twenty percent alcohol and fill the rest of the bottle with distilled or reverse osmosis water and put on squirt heads. Buy three squirt bottles. You will only use two at a time but squirt heads are unreliable and you might run over the bottles. You should have two people in charge of windows and chrome. Assign them squirt bottles with window cleaner and one squeegee each. No car leaves without perfect windows and mirrors. Tell them they are in charge and remember mirrors are considered windows. This will increase your ‘tipage’ by ten to twenty percent. Even if the cars are not perfect, if the windows are, it’s a good car wash.

You should time the average wash and average dry. If you are washing faster than drying, take away a wash mitt from the bucket and you will find that extra person moving to another assignment. If cars are drying faster than washing, hand a soap mitt to the average dryer (not the fastest or the slowest). Ask them “We’re getting behind in the washing. Can you go help speed them up?”

Give a chamois to a supervisor in the dry area for dark colored and very expensive cars. He should have a spare chamois for your best worker to use to help with special cars that come through. This extra special treatment should cost more so have the donation can person stand by while you work. Without asking for an extra tip you will increase your chance of getting a large tip by fifty percent, money your group needs and deserves. Before the event copy this list above and then check off each item as you get it and have it all ready to go the morning of the event, you will be glad you did, because you are a great parent and you care. Think on this.

Extra Extra! Car Covers Save Car!

    August 5th, 2008

Your automobile is one of the most important investments you will make aside from your house. So it only follows that you would watch over this prized possession as a mother would her child. While singing it lullabyes, you will want to keep it from getting scratched or stained. This is where a good car cover comes in. Without this simple but highly effective protection, you are sure to have your baby sporting dents and scratches in no time. If you’re looking for a good guide to choosing a car cover for your vehicle, you have come to the right place.

Imagine the dread when you find the first dent or scratch on your new vehicle. Unfortunately, it’s a fact of life. Unless you are considering covering your vehicle in plated steel, chances are you will be seeing more of these dents and scratches in your life. However, a good car cover can, at the very least, keep your car away from many of the needless scratches it could endure.

Birds, trees, and dust all pose a scratch hazard to your car. They may seem harmless, but looks can be deceiving.

    Birds

Don’t you just hate it when those birds just can’t seem to let loose their bombs unless there are right over something important? Jump the gun! Get protection for your car!

Bird droppings are acidic and could cause discoloration or even corrosion to your paint finish. Most outdoor car cover fabrics are designed to keep those droppings from harming your car.

    Trees

We all love them for the shade. But trees have a deadly sense of retribution. Falling branches, nuts, fruits, and sap can all put scratches and stains on you car. And don’t forget our friendly neighborhood birds (where else would they be found?). If you’re really unlucky, a large branch might come crashing your way. So always be careful which tree you choose to park under.

    Dust

You might think that your car paint can weather dust storms. Unfortunately that armor of paint you talk about is only .006 inches thick. Dust that settles on your cars surface could cause tiny scratches if it gets rubbed in. Indoor car cover fabrics and Outdoor car cover fabrics are designed to keep that dust away from your vehicle.

    Thieves!

That thin lining of cloth might not look like it can repel large hazards to your car. But, look again! It could even save your car from thieving fiends! Thieves usually bypass covered vehicles because they take more time to get into. Since their goal is to get the car out of there in the least amount of time, they usually look for those that are easier to get in to. Add a lock and cable to your car cover, and you will keep those pesky thieves scrambling for a different quarry.

    Rain

Rain is usually harmless. But a strong downpour could assist dust and other debris in scratching the surface of your car. A good outdoor car-cover gives your car a much needed raincoat.

    Sunshine

Harsh UV rays and the intense heat of the Sun can bleach the color right out of your car. A car cover makes sure these harmful elements are deflected. It also keeps the interior of your car cooler.

    Winter

Your car’s finish will have no problem with the cold. It will, though, have a problem with the moisture and the salt. Both elements can wreck havoc on your paint job. Keep your car cover on to prevent this.

Things to Consider in Choosing the Right Car Cover

Consider the following when choosing a car cover:

    1. The places where you park and how frequent you use your car

    2. Weather in the places you often drive to

    3. What color will work best in the weather you drive. For sunny areas a light color helps keep the vehicle cooler. In area with snow, a high contrast vehicle makes for better visibility.

    4. Parking areas. Make sure you know the hazards of your parking area. And be prepared to choose a car cover that addresses this.

    5. The number of people and the crime rate at your parking lot. This will decide whether you will go for a car cover lock to discourage any thieves.
