Extra Extra! Car Covers Save Car!

    August 5th, 2008

Your automobile is one of the most important investments you will make aside from your house. So it only follows that you would watch over this prized possession as a mother would her child. While singing it lullabyes, you will want to keep it from getting scratched or stained. This is where a good car cover comes in. Without this simple but highly effective protection, you are sure to have your baby sporting dents and scratches in no time. If you’re looking for a good guide to choosing a car cover for your vehicle, you have come to the right place.

Imagine the dread when you find the first dent or scratch on your new vehicle. Unfortunately, it’s a fact of life. Unless you are considering covering your vehicle in plated steel, chances are you will be seeing more of these dents and scratches in your life. However, a good car cover can, at the very least, keep your car away from many of the needless scratches it could endure.

Birds, trees, and dust all pose a scratch hazard to your car. They may seem harmless, but looks can be deceiving.

    Birds

Don’t you just hate it when those birds just can’t seem to let loose their bombs unless there are right over something important? Jump the gun! Get protection for your car!

Bird droppings are acidic and could cause discoloration or even corrosion to your paint finish. Most outdoor car cover fabrics are designed to keep those droppings from harming your car.

    Trees

We all love them for the shade. But trees have a deadly sense of retribution. Falling branches, nuts, fruits, and sap can all put scratches and stains on you car. And don’t forget our friendly neighborhood birds (where else would they be found?). If you’re really unlucky, a large branch might come crashing your way. So always be careful which tree you choose to park under.

    Dust

You might think that your car paint can weather dust storms. Unfortunately that armor of paint you talk about is only .006 inches thick. Dust that settles on your cars surface could cause tiny scratches if it gets rubbed in. Indoor car cover fabrics and Outdoor car cover fabrics are designed to keep that dust away from your vehicle.

    Thieves!

That thin lining of cloth might not look like it can repel large hazards to your car. But, look again! It could even save your car from thieving fiends! Thieves usually bypass covered vehicles because they take more time to get into. Since their goal is to get the car out of there in the least amount of time, they usually look for those that are easier to get in to. Add a lock and cable to your car cover, and you will keep those pesky thieves scrambling for a different quarry.

    Rain

Rain is usually harmless. But a strong downpour could assist dust and other debris in scratching the surface of your car. A good outdoor car-cover gives your car a much needed raincoat.

    Sunshine

Harsh UV rays and the intense heat of the Sun can bleach the color right out of your car. A car cover makes sure these harmful elements are deflected. It also keeps the interior of your car cooler.

    Winter

Your car’s finish will have no problem with the cold. It will, though, have a problem with the moisture and the salt. Both elements can wreck havoc on your paint job. Keep your car cover on to prevent this.

Things to Consider in Choosing the Right Car Cover

Consider the following when choosing a car cover:

    1. The places where you park and how frequent you use your car

    2. Weather in the places you often drive to

    3. What color will work best in the weather you drive. For sunny areas a light color helps keep the vehicle cooler. In area with snow, a high contrast vehicle makes for better visibility.

    4. Parking areas. Make sure you know the hazards of your parking area. And be prepared to choose a car cover that addresses this.

    5. The number of people and the crime rate at your parking lot. This will decide whether you will go for a car cover lock to discourage any thieves.

Choosing car covers might sound trivial to some. But for the well-informed person (that’s you), an investment in a good car cover could decide the lifespan of you precious vehicle.

Donating Used Cars For A Cause

    August 2nd, 2008

Modern technology has produced a surplus of goods which we find difficult to dispose of. While many of us are sensibly reaping the fruits of our contemporary development and affluence, it is not a bad idea to share some of our blessings to financially disadvantaged people.

    What to donate?

There are hundreds of things to donate, as there are various ways to do it. As more and more people suffer from financial burden, increasing numbers of people are incapacitated to reach out to different places and are an impediment from the many opportunities waiting for them in the outside world.

Cars are considered to be one of our primary needs in this modern time. While more than 80% of most American adults own cars or at least renting their own cars, there are still some who cannot finance the purchase of their own automobiles.

This can isolate individuals and discriminate against them due to their financial situation. This is such a sad fact, yet, the good news is that you can do something to stop it or at least, be part of the cause in solving this part of this global dilemma.

    Statistics

Just exactly how many individuals are getting into this humanitarian cause? From 1992 to present alone, institutions catering for car donations services have estimated to receive more than 35,000 cars a month within that period.

If you are planning to buy a new car and replace an existing one and have not come up with an idea where to put it, either selling it or rebuilding it, perhaps donating it to a charitable institution could solve your problem and potentially make a big difference in the lives of others.

How Can I donate my car?

Car donation centers usually offer services that including picking up the automobile you would like to donate (free of charge for most car charity institutions), prepare the title transfer requirements, and all legal documents related to the clearing of ownership of the car.

Most charitable donation centers who accept automobiles, provide a tax-deductible donation receipt to the donor in due consideration for donated cars.

    Determining Eligibility for Car Assistance

Members of the board of charitable institutions choose among the list of applicants requesting a vehicle. Together, they determine the eligibility and proof of financial incapacity among applicants to purchase automobiles.

Preference will be awarded to individuals who have clear credit standing showing inability to purchase automobile machines. The car beneficiary will undergo the same legal process of transfer requirements to legitimately take its title of ownership.

Gregory Ashton, your resident automobile enthusiast, bringing to you over 20 years of vehicular passion, and expertise; presents for your approval his insider secrets on selecting, buying, and maintianing the car that is ideal for you. www.best-car-buying-tips.com

7 Destructive Habits of Incompetent People

    August 1st, 2008

WARNING! If you want to have a fantastic life, never engage yourself in these 7 deadly habits that incompetent people do.

NUMBER 1 - They Think, Say, & Do Negative Things.

Yup. They see problems in every opportunity.

They complain that the sun is too hot. They cursed the rain for ruining their plans for the day. They blame the wind for ruining their hair.

They think that everyone is against them. They see the problems but never the solutions.

Every little bit of difficulty is exaggerated to the point of tragedy. They regard failures as catastrophes. They become discouraged easily instead of learning from their mistakes.

They never seem to move forward because they’re always afraid to come out of their comfort zones.

NUMBER 2 - They Act Before They Think.

They move based on instinct or impulse. If they see something they like, they buy at once without any second thought.

Then they see something better. They regret & curse for not able to take advantage of the bargain.

Then they spend & spend again until nothing’s left. They don’t think about the future. What they’re after is the pleasure they will experience at present.

They don’t think about the consequences. Those who engage in unsafe sex, criminality, and the like are included in this group.

NUMBER 3 - They Talk Much More Than They Listen

They want to be the star of the show. So they always engage in talks that would make them heroes, even to the point of lying.

Oftentimes they are not aware that what they’re saying is not sensible anymore.

When other people advise them, they close their ears because they’re too proud to admit their mistakes.

In their mind they’re always correct. They reject suggestions because that will make them feel inferior.

NUMBER 4 - They Give Up Easily

Successful people treat failures as stepping stones to success.

Incompetent ones call it quits upon recognizing the first signs of failure.

At first, they may be excited to start an endeavor. But then they lose interest fairly quickly, especially when they encounter errors.

Then they go & search for a new one. Same story & same results. Incompetent people don’t have the persistence to go on and fulfill their dreams.

NUMBER 5 - They Try to Bring Others Down To Their Level

Incompetent people envy other successful individuals. Instead of working hard to be like them, these incompetent ones spread rumors and try every dirty trick to bring them down.

They could’ve asked these successful ones nicely. But no, they’re too proud. They don’t want to ask advise. Moreover, they’re too negative to accomplish anything.

NUMBER 6 - They Waste Their Time

They don’t know what to do next. They may just be contented on eating, getting drunk, watching TV, or worse, staring at the blank wall with no thoughts whatsoever to improve their lives.

It’s perfectly fine to enjoy once in a while. But time should be managed efficiently in order to succeed. There should be a proper balance between work & pleasure.

NUMBER 7 - They Take the Easy Way Out

If there are two roads to choose from, incompetent people would choose the wider road with less rewards than the narrower road with much better rewards at the end.

They don’t want any suffering or hardship. They want a good life.

What these people don’t know is that what you reap is what you sow. Efforts & action will not go unnoticed.

If only they would be willing to sacrifice a little, they would be much better off.

Successful people made it through trials & error. They never give up. They are willing to do everything necessary to achieve what they aspire for in life.

Making The Most Of The Front Of Your Home Using Wind Chimes

    July 29th, 2008

To beautify the front of your home and enhance your landscape, why not use the magical benefits of wind chimes? They come in a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and price ranges, and are sure to be the perfect compliment, regardless of exterior design.

Small nondescript houses are especially flattered by such yard features as trellises, decorative mailboxes, birdhouses, and wind chime designs that add a distinct country home décor charm.

Outdoor southwest décor can be enhanced by a more natural looking landscape, one harmonious with the eco-system. Use large wooden tubs of ornamental cactus or interesting semi-succulent flora, strategically placed in a section of the yard made up of ornamental stones, bark chips, or native ground cover.

Areas within the garden and along the perimeter can be planted with tufts of ornamental grasses. Drifts of native plants that flower at different times of the year will add color and give balance to the landscape design.

A stone or cement bird bath, garden bench, and perfectly tuned wind chimes suspended from the branch of a tree not only make the yard look more appealing, but more inviting as well. Hear the haunting “vocals” tapped from each pipe as the wind passes by, and enjoy the tranquil setting where harmony kisses the sun.

This type landscape design is not only unique and attractive, but low-maintenance; an added bonus that busy homeowners will surely appreciate.

Wind chimes can be used as an enhancement and to create a certain mood or compliment design in a variety of ways. A set of small diameter pipe wind chimes suspended from an elaborate hanger by the front door can replace a doorbell or door knocker during mild weather months. A small polished brass plaque beside it could announce a formal “Ring for service,” or a more playful, “Ring my chimes.”

Such an arrangement could enhance an otherwise plain porch. A natural wood or painted lattice or fan trellis, embraced by flowering vines, could complete the quaint scene. If positioning of the porch allows, place the trellis on the north end to reduce force of air current. That way, when the chimes “sing” you know you have a visitor.

Use decorating ideas that compliment the front of your yard, beautifying what you have to work with, instead of competing against it. Finely tuned wind chimes are a sure way to add a relaxing note; complimentary, therapeutic, and feng shui enhancing.

Stephen Betzen is a loving husband/supporter/and friend to his wife Rachel Betzen. Rachel and Stephen are dedicated to socially and ethically responsible business. Lovers of gardening and simple living. They operate an online wind chimes store

Strength Training For Golf - No Gym Required

    July 29th, 2008

Strength training for golf is viewed by golfers as a lot of work, time-consuming, boring and you need a gym membership to do it. None of the above is true, and if you read this article, I’ll explain why.

You see… strength training for golf isn’t on machines anyways…so that eliminates the requirement of a gym. All you need is a pair of handweights, exercise tubing and a stability ball and you’ve got your entire “in-home” golf fitness gym.

It’s not a lot of work, if you pick and choose the area you want to focus on. It’s not time-consuming if you do it in the convenience of your home, and have a plan of action. And lastly, it can be a lot of fun, when you use bands, exercise balls and training equipment specific to golf.

There many “so-called” strength training for golf programs, but when you take a look at them, you’ll see pictures of golfers sitting on their butts in a machine. I don’t know about you, but I think golf is done “on your feet”, right?

Strength training for golf is becoming “mainstream” with the golfing community. We see and hear all the pros doing it and playing their best golf; so why wouldn’t we amateurs do it also?

There are so many reasons why to participate in a strength training for golf program, that you can’t overlook it and say you don’t need it.

Lacking power in your swing? It’s because your body can’t produce any stored energy from a full backswing with torque in your core. That’s a ‘physical’ issue, not mechanical.

Is your golf swing inconsistent from one swing to the next? Swing faults originate from some deeper physical limitation that’s not allowing you to make a mechanically sound and repeatable swing. How many times have you taken a lesson and heard your pro say, “you need to make a full backswing”, but you just can’t physically do it? That’s a ‘physical’ issue, not mechanical.

How about injuries? Do you have one at the moment? The golf swing is physically damaging to the body if you don’t have enough strength and flexibility to withstand the force the golf swing puts on it. Swinging a 3 foot long lever (club) at up to 90 mph is unbelievably stressful on the joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles of the body. That’s a ‘physical’ issue, not mechanical.

I could go on and on, but I think you might get the idea by now.

Strength training for golf may be your “missing link” to your best game ever! If you’ve tried all the ‘other’ methods, this is the ONLY one left. Why wouldn’t you explore the possibilities a little more?

If you’re looking to add power to your golf swing; improve your consistency; and prevent golf injuries, then you’ve got to consider strength training for golf.

Choosing The Right Style Of Alloy Wheels For Your Car

    July 25th, 2008

There are two main reasons that anybody would want to buy a set of alloy wheels for their car. First of all, they are lighter than the ordinary steel wheels that are found on most vehicles, meaning that the unsprung weight (Unsprung weight is a term used to describe that part of a vehicle’s mass that is directly connected to the wheels, and not isolated through the suspension.) of the car is reduced, increasing performance and handling.

However, by far and away the main reason that most people decide to purchase a set of alloy wheels, is because they look good!

When choosing a set of alloy wheels, to a certain extent, the decision is determined by the make and model of your vehicle, although in today’s market, manufacturers of alloy wheels generally make all of their leading designs available in most rim sizes and stud patterns.

Probably the hardest decision faced by anyone looking to buy a set of alloy wheels, is the choice of style. There are literally thousands of different designs available to suit all tastes.

What follows is by no means a strict guide to the style that you should, or should not buy for your particular type of vehicle. All tastes are different and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. They are, however, popular suggestions as to what might be best for any particular type of vehicle, based on many years of professional experience in the alloy wheel retail market.

Three spoke alloy wheels - These were very popular when they were first released. Owners of all types of vehicle flocked to purchase a set of these purely based on the novelty factor that they offered at the time. Today however, three spoke wheels have gone out of fashion and very few people choose this type of wheel.

Five and six spoke alloy wheels - These are probably the most common style of alloy wheels currently available. They are very versatile and tend to suit almost any type of vehicle. Although it is generally accepted that you should choose wider spokes for the larger vehicles as the slim spoked wheels can look out of place, as the three spoke wheels might. For your standard family vehicle it would probably be best to stick to something smooth and simple, you don’t want the car to be dominated by a set of outlandish alloys.

Twin and multi-spoke alloy wheels - If you are purchasing a set of alloy wheels for a prestige or sports car, sometimes a simple, smooth five or six spoke wheel just doesn’t do it justice and can look a little understated. In these situations it might be worth considering a more stylish twin or multi-spoke wheel that will better suit the overall look and feel of the vehicle.

Other style factors - There are other style factors to consider. Some alloy wheels have an open centre with exposed bolts, these tend to also be multi-spoke wheels and have a very ‘rally car’ type feel to them. Also you should bear in mind that when you buy wheels that have fewer and thinner spokes, your brake pads will be much more visible, this is fine if your brakes are relatively new and in good condition, in some instances being able to see a set of high quality, performance brakes can actually improve the appearance and appeal of a vehicle.

Just remember, there are no rules as to what style of alloy wheel you should purchase for your car. These are just suggestions, you may find them helpful in making a decision on what style you want to go for, and I hope you do.

Choosing a web host is like choosing a place to eat, you want quality food with good, honest service

    July 25th, 2008

If you are anything like me, you’d probably like to have a website on the Internet but you just have no idea how to go about it. All this talk of web hosting, bandwidth, disc space, and other jargon can cause one to say, “This is too complicated and technical, I just wanted to have a place to put all of my favorite skateboarding photos, cool information on ramp designs, and the best places to skate!” To get a website on the Web you have to go through a web host. The question is how do you find the web host for you?

If you type ‘web host’ into your search engine like Google you will get thousands of sites. Hit on one of these and like any product on the market you will see all sorts of persuasive propaganda to incite you to use their company; that is if you can decipher any of the technical jargon that only computer-heads can comprehend. Some web hosts offer free business cards with an account; some probably offer free watches…like all consumer industries you the buyer must beware.

I’m a writer so I’ll use the analogy of a writer’s journal. The journal I like must not be too big or small in book size. It also must have a good amount of space allocated to each day, again not a whole page but not just a few lines. Of course I also want it to be cheap but of a good quality that won’t fall apart while I’m using it, and I hope it would last for posterity. I just want the diary, some nice pictures in it are O.K. but unnecessary especially if it adds to the price.

It’s the same with a web host and web site scenario. You want to get the right deal for you, enough space and enough access to the public that you wish to associate with. As a novice who doesn’t understand all the jargon this can pose a problem. Are you an individual, small business, blog, or a big time corporation? What do you need and how do you get it?

As far as I can tell the web hosting business is a lot like the fast food business. The big corporations have strict guidelines, will offer you special deals, and have monthly ‘cheeseburger specials’. But, I’ve always been more interested in the ‘Mom and Pop’ small time diners who have that real caring human approach. You know you are a customer and a person, not just a number on a sales receipt. I believe the hosting companies are the same.

A smaller hosting company will probably treat its users with more honest integrity as well as having more flexibility in dealing with your individual situation. They can often tailor web site packages to accommodate exactly what you are looking for as well as the ability to update them quickly when your needs change.

My advice is to contact a few of the smaller companies. Look for ones with good reputations or just arbitrarily email them and compare results from different places. Which one do you feel most comfortable with? Go for it; ask as many questions as you can, see how the different hosts differ in their answers. Try one; if it doesn’t work out try another, it’s really easy to move around. Don’t be afraid, you’ve got nothing to lose except the fear itself!

Tips on Closing The Car Deal

    July 23rd, 2008

Here are some useful tips on closing the car deal:

Ensure that all paperwork is up-to-date and accurate. Here is some of the paperwork that you should be able to prepare. The certificate of ownership, vehicle registration, receipts of parts replaced and repairs done, safety check, CARFAX vehicle Report, Smog check, bill of sale, and receipt for deposit should be prepared.

The CARFAX History Report is important because it gives the buyer more trust and confidence in buying your car. By building that trust, you can be able to sell the car sooner rather than later. The bill of sale is important too, because it tells the buyer that all deals are final. It means that all future repairs are no longer included in the deal. Have the buyer put their initials and the date it was sold on the bill of sale. This will be harsh too, but it is needed to prevent bogus buyers. Have them sign and date the deposit slip. So if they are not really interested they will no longer bother you because they will lose their money after they have deposited.

Other ways to weed out the bad buyers that can just irritate you is simply by saying “Why don’t you think about it and just call me back if you have decided you want to see it.” If they do call back, chances are they are very interested and will go to your place. Then be kind by giving them the proper directions and you will not waste time waiting for people who will not show up. If something has really come up that they are not able to make it, please remind them to call you or inform you.

The final step when selling your car is to be able to close the deal. If the car or truck is expensive, it will be alright to accept a cashier’s check. But by being able to be paid by check you need to make sure that the check does not bounce. The deed of sale will only be released when the bank has cleared the check.

Always remember to give importance to the deed of sale that sates that all sales are final and all repairs that happens from hereon out is final.

By being able to follow these tips on closing the deals, you and the buyer will have a smoother sale.

    High Speed Boat-Car

    July 22nd, 2008

Perhaps you have seen the media news footage of the sports car, which turns into a boat when you get onto the water. Indeed this would be a fun car for you, wouldn’t it? The most recent boat car was very exotic looking and lots of fun, but the price of $200,000 makes one wonder if it matters as few could justify it or afford it for that matter. There are many manufacturers who have designed boat cars and you would be surprised how affordable they really are these days. Here is one we believed would be just perfect and it is made in the USA.

    http://www.dobbertinhydrocar.com/

Then there is a research company in CA doing a private industry project with a water skimmer speed boat. This is a slightly different concept but highly worthy of mention.

    http://www.americanhydrofoil.com/

There are many such projects, which we do not know about as well as some pretty bizarre conspiracy theorists misinformation type information out there.

    http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/1028393/posts

The actual unit being built is much faster than the specified speed. And it is a lot more capable than ever thought; they are in use now. But the smaller assault style hydrofoil skimmer vehicles are the future like the strike vehicles used now in Baghdad only on the water actually traveling above it. These type of water vehicles have all kinds of uses from transporting seal teams, delivering weapons to enemy ports for blockage or Unmanned Above Water patrols for coastlines or to swim circles around the whole fleet at 50 miles out for additional buffer zone to give information to the Net Centric system guarding those assets in the fleets. Six or seven of these going around in circles and you have a complete out ring safety net, including taking weather, surf, temperature readings. Now then, what if you used the some of this technology and this prototype and set up skimmer skis, which come out as your new boat/car reached speed. If this worked with some armor light-weight armor plating. To me, I think it would be one heck of a fun urban assault vehicle to challenge my friends who driver Hummers. Look out Arnold, we got you covered; HA. You build a car-boat on a chassis of a vehicle like a SmartTruck or Presidential Limo. You could have a amphibious, strike vehicle once you got to the shore. A car, a high speed boat and if you got into serious problems head for the water. From the water to the land you could literally hit the beach at 30kts. On the water at 100+ Knots and then slow down to 50 knots on the water as this boat can do that already. Slow down to 30 knots and drive out of the water and accelerate to 100 knots again.

I know what you are thinking; gimme one. So, I understand your name is Bond; James Bond? Ah; Think about it.

    The Ultimate Follow-Up Strategy

    July 20th, 2008

Here’s the scenario: a visitor finds your site through Google. They sign up for your ezine, report, audiosomething free that your visitor sees as valuable. You get their email address when they sign up. In the Multiple Streams model we call this freebie the pink spoon, after Baskin-Robbins© appetite-whetting sample.

The report is automatically downloaded and your visitor- now a prospect-reads or listens to it over the next couple of weeks. They really like the information and they decide to put it to use. After a couple of weeks your prospect finds out it really works. Wow-that was great advice! Maybe they remember where it came from, but maybe they’ve forgotten all about you…

What if your prospect downloads your pink spoon and doesn’t read it right awayin fact, what if they forget about it altogether? It downloads into a temporary file and disappears. If they have trouble remembering you under the best of circumstances, and they do, they’re certainly going to forget you when your pink spoon is gone.

The bottom line is that we rarely make a significant purchase impulsively.

We think about it, mull over it, discuss it with our friends, and choose to buy it or forget about it. There’s usually a contemplation period between our initial exposure to a product and our purchase. So if you’re not marketing your services and products to prospects consistently over time, you’re losing out on valuable sales.

So what is the least expensive, and yet extraordinarily impactful method of staying in touch with your prospects and customers?

    Autoresponders.

An autoresponder is a sequence of emails that is sent automatically to a prospect or buyer. For example, if you buy a service or product online you will usually immediately receive a response or electronic receipt via email. Anytime you make a purchase from Amazon, for example, they send you a prewritten confirmation email of your purchase.

Therein lays the power. Autoresponder messages are prewritten. Once you’ve written them, you load them into the autoresponder server, and they’re sent automatically to anyone who signs up for your ezine, report, product, or service. The messages can be very personalized or more general, depending on how much information you’ve requested from the prospect.

Once your visitor has given you their information, you can continue to send messages over as long a period as you wish. The type of information you send should have some interest to the prospectmore information about your products, announcements, tips, new ideas you’ve heard about. By consistently sending information and not just more sales pitches, you’re keeping your business alive to the reader.

If you have a variety of offerings, ranging from a free report to an ecourse to coaching services, an autoresponder is invaluable. Not only will you be able to stay in touch with your prospect, but you can also guide them through your marketing funnel.

The first step is capturing your visitor’s email address by offering something of great perceived value. Your autoresponder sequence can then continue to provide valuable information related to the initial product, and also suggest ways in which your other products and services could be of help. Anytime you develop a new product or service, you can develop an email campaign that introduces your offering and allows your subscriber to take a free test drive.

    NEXT STEPS

Some of the most popular services for autoresponders include Aweber and Constant Contact. Explore these products briefly, and compare fees and services. How much will they charge monthly to send out your ezine? Is the cost based on how many subscribers you have? How easy is it to put a subscriber form on your site? How many messages can you send? Over what period of time? Both of these have tutorials, and free trials.

Your next quick assignment is to write your first three messages for a made-up email campaign. Take a service or product you already offer, and play with some ideas of how to promote it over 3 email messages. Again, these are people who have voluntarily signed up for your free pink spoon already, so don’t be afraid of marketing “too much”.
